Our Story And Experience

We built Beacon Behavior Services after more than ten years working directly with children, teens, and adults who show challenging behaviors in homes, schools, and communities. Our work blends Applied Behavior Analysis with an educator's mindset, so strategies make sense, fit daily life, and respect each person's strengths.

How We Partner With You

We work alongside families, schools, and healthcare providers to understand what is happening and why. Together, we design functional assessments, safety plans, and teaching strategies that are realistic to use. We stay involved through coaching and training so everyone feels confident using the plan every day.

Who You Will Work With

Our team includes highly trained behavior specialists with backgrounds in education and Applied Behavior Analysis. We have supported a wide range of disabilities and mental health needs, across all ages. We explain concepts in clear language, share data in a useful way, and stay focused on goals that matter to you.

Susan Savant, PhD, BCBA

Beacon Behavior Services is led by Susan Savant, PhD, BCBA, who brings a perspective you don't often find in behavior support - she's both a scientist and an educator at heart. With a doctorate in Education and board certification as a Behavior Analyst, Susan approaches challenging behaviors not just as problems to manage, but as communication and learning opportunities to understand. Over the past decade, she's worked with individuals across all ages and settings - from preschools to residential homes, from families navigating early intervention to employment programs supporting adults with complex needs.

What sets her apart is how she translates evidence-based practices into strategies that actually fit real life. She builds relationships first, listens carefully to what families and caregivers are experiencing, and creates individualized plans that respect where people are starting from. Her educational background means she sees behavior through a teaching lens - every intervention is an opportunity to build new skills, not just reduce problems. If you're looking for someone who combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion and practical wisdom, you're in the right place.
